The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a comprehensive, structured, 10-month training program that provides future leaders of BB&T with a strong foundation in the financial services industry.
The training will focus on these primary concentrations:
The Business Banking Concentration prepares Associates for positions such as a commercial portfolio manager and a business development officer with training in understanding core principles of financial analysis, selling financial services and business development techniques.
The Retail Banking Concentration prepares Associates to serve as a Financial Center Leader. This concentration provides an intensive training curriculum which includes evaluating and extending credit, managing a retail loan portfolio, working with small business owners, managing employees, and servicing client accounts.
The Corporate Concentrations may include: Audit Services, Capital Markets, Commercial Finance, Direct Retail Lending, Enterprise Risk Management, Financial Management (Corp. Accounting), Human Systems, Loan Services, Mortgage Lending Administration, Operations, Private Financial Services, Sales Finance, Special Assets, and Support Services. Note: Some Corporate Associates may follow a Retail or Business Banking training curriculum.
All concentrations consist of an intensive training curriculum of classroom and on-the-job training with an emphasis in providing excellent client service. After successful completion of the training program, Associates are prepared to take responsible positions with excellent opportunities for advancement. Traditionally, BB&T has two training programs in Winston-Salem, NC each year, one beginning in January, and one in July.

Information Technology Training Program |
Participants in this program will receive top-flight training based in a team setting. The 6-8 week training program includes new employee orientation, experiencing the Lowe’s Support Center (which handles calls from the 1700+ Lowe’s store locations), visiting our state of the art Data Center, a visit to one of our retail stores and distribution centers. In addition, the candidate will receive professional development training as well as advanced technical training specific to the position placed in (Java, C, Cobol, JCL, data modeling tools and development methodologies). IT Solutions Support Specialist
The IT Solutions Specialist Trainee assists Lowe’s Program Managers and Analysts with activities required to operate their Program Office. The Business Solutions (BSG) team works closely with their assigned customer unit and along side each of their IT counterparts to provide design, analysis, and critical knowledge to both the application development teams and the business unit. The BSG team acts as the conduit for the effective and timely delivery of business solutions. In addition, BSG provides support for the Lowe’s Information Warehouse and all tools and services surrounding Lowe’s web-based business intelligence initiatives.

MANAGEMENT/SALES TRAINING PROGRAM
Overview: Our Management/Sales Training Program (MTP) prepares you for a successful
career in management and outside professional sales at locations throughout the
nation. The Program combines structured, on-the-job training, self-study modules,
classroom instruction, and ongoing education throughout your career in the areas of
sales, marketing, financial management, store operations, merchandising, customer
service, and human resource management.
TRAINING & DURATION:
_ PHASE 1: Approximately eight weeks in a training store, this phase prepares you to
sell our products and service our customers. This experience is concurrent with our
Store Training and Reference Tool System (click S.T.A.R.T.), a workbook and series of
CD’s that teach you the basics of our business.
_ PHASE 2: One week of classroom training in one of our four training “campuses”,
located in Atlanta, GA; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; and Philadelphia, PA.
_ PHASE 3: Approximately 12 to 20 months in the Assistant Manager/Operations
Manager position, followed by advancement to a Store Manager or Outside Sales
Representative position.

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS:
_ Recent college graduate with 4-year Bachelor's Degree(business majors preferred) with a minimum GPA of 2.5;
_ Eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis, without sponsorship
or restrictions;
_ Willingness to relocate for first assignment and career advancement;
_ Valid Driver’s License;
_ Excellent communication skills, a good work ethic, and interest in an active,
‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ type of environment are essential;
_ Preference given to candidates with experience in sales, customer service,
food service, or construction.

Subrogation claim professionals manage recovery efforts for auto, property and workers compensation claim payments
Training and Development
Participants will undergo a structured training program, which consists of formal training, online courses and on-the-job training, depending upon the business unit. Participants may take coursework at Claim University, a state of the art facility in Windsor, CT featuring a property and auto lab. In states where an adjuster’s license is required, participants will be sent to licensing class within their city.
As developing Claim professionals, participants will learn effective strategies for investigating, negotiating and resolving claims thoroughly, accurately and efficiently. Understanding what happened, estimating damage, determining what coverages apply and helping our customer through the process are fundamental to this role. Because we offer a wide variety of insurance products to both individuals and Fortune 500 businesses, there are always opportunities for participants to learn new skills and grow throughout their career.
