Southern Teachers Agency  Third-party recruitment agency for teacher/administrative candidates in PK-12 private/independent schools around the South
Position Description Requirements Location
1:  Teachers, Coaches, Counselors, Administrators Every child deserves the best teacher possible. These are the teachers who inspire, challenge, and encourage their students. They unlock the potential of their students, enabling them to achieve beyond all expectations. These teachers know what constitutes the best teaching environment: small class sizes, supportive colleagues and administrators, parents who are invested in the success of their children, and, most importantly, the academic freedom to innovate in the classroom, unconstrained by standardized testing. If you are searching for this kind of teaching environment, then you should consider working in a PK-12 private/independent school. Private schools enroll all types of students, but only hire teachers who can take advantage of this special opportunity and make a real difference in the lives of children. Southern Teachers Agency can help you find one of these jobs. Since 1902, STA has found talented, enthusiastic teachers, coaches, and administrators for schools around the South. While we’ve placed thousands and thousands of candidates, we’ve done it one person at a time: our placement counselors seek the best opportunities for each individual teacher. You must have a bachelor’s degree to teach in a private school, but certification is not always necessary • Elementary Education and Learning Specialist: teacher certification required • Art, Physical Education, and Music: teacher certification strongly preferred • Media Specialist/Library: MLS (or comparable degree) required • School Counselor: master’s degree in counselor education • Administration: master’s degree in administration strongly preferred • For most other middle- and high-school teaching positions, a bachelor’s degree with a major in the teaching field (or at least a minor) is essential, but teacher certification is not. More generally, the best schools want three things: content mastery, enthusiasm for leading extracurricular and athletic programs, and a personality that inspires children to learn.
